I just wanted to share the fact that I began watching the Gene Simmon’s Family Jewels show first as a curiosity, but then became hooked due to it’s actually being the first "reality" show that has a real sweetness, humor and suprisingly real dealings with the things in life. You can tell that this family really loves each other, and has each other’s backs. There is real friendship and support for each other between his kids, which is refreshing. They’re also not spoiled at all, despite coming from a rich family. I love the home movie footage they show. It brings a feeling of authenticity to their family history. Sure, they’re being paid alot to do a TV show, but I give Gene credit for allowing the cameras into his private therapy sessions. He appears to have truly turned a corner & now seems to recognize what his personal demons are, and now he can move forward. The episode where they went to Israel and Gene met his family & visited his father’s grave was particularily moving for me. Gene & Shannon are a loving, real couple and I hope they’ll get married one day soon and I wish the whole family nothing but happiness in the future! (PS – I don’t even really like KISS music! I just like their show! …weird, huh?)
