Heisman Trophy
This is my hypothetical question to all football fans and sportswriters.
I believe 5 young men are selected each year for their outstanding performances and how they help their win and the same time create or break all kinds of records.
Last year I believe Sam Bradford won when in fact I felt very strongly that Ndamukong Suh should have won because of his sheer dominance as a defensive player and his winning several defensive player awards is a great testament to his ability as a football player, whereas Sam Bradford is great as well but do not think he was as deserving as Ndamukong Suh is and this brings up my hypthetical question.
Suppose in January 2011 four great linemen (regardless of defense or offense) and one offensive player be it a QB, WR, TE or a RB. has been chosen as candidates. Who do you think is most likely to win the Heisman Trophy? The player who scores the most points or the defensive player who prevented the points from happening or the offensive linesman who helped make it happen.
Most likely the QB, WR, TE or RB will win because in my opinion it’s all about flash as well bias. I also believe there are more east coast sports writers and coaches who tend to vote for flash rather than substance and that I believe it’s what caused a great defensive player such as Ndamukong Suh to lose out.
What do you think? I could be wrong and willing to accept it….if you could give me a good argument as to why I am wrong.
Please no foul language…don’t need it.
