JIM THOME, DID YOU KNOW?

Here’s a guy who was voted by his peers as the nicest guy in the league, a gentleman and an ambassador of the game. Jim Thome, is now playing ball in Minnesota and if you didn’t know, you know now, he is 2 HR’s shy of 600. So why is there not one sports network talking about this? Thome’s name has never once been associated with PED’s, not once. So where’s the promotional countdown? a la McGuire, Sosa, Bonds, A-Roid? I know the answer(s), 1. MLB has been burnt before with the mess that the above players made, using steroids during their phony count-downs.  2. Jim Thome is not as “sexy” when it comes to “chics digging the long ball”. I’m sure there’s a few more.

But ……….

When you consider Pete Rose and his ban from baseball and the HOF, his fall from grace hasn’t tainted the game in no way, compared to what these bums have done, Thome excluded ofcourse. Think about it, when you look at the Baseball Encyclopedia and look at any of Charlie Hustles’ stats and then compare the other stats to the those who’ve used steroids, with who’s stats do you question more as being tainted? It’s a no brainer! Yet …Rose will never see the inside of the HOF. You see my point?

That is why Jim Thome deserves more respect from MLB and should be honored the night he reaches 600 by ESPN breaking into each plate appearance he has during a game, a precedent has been set …..Only that precedent was set by players who also, should never see the inside of the HOF. I’m done, thanks for your time.
