I hate to see the end of the original Law and Order. An erudite series with often brilliant writing and acting. Clearly, the show has fallen off the mark with weaker stories and a cast that hasn’t measured up. SVU remains strong which always amazes me because it comes off so canned…like a soap…even the predicable directing. Criminal Intent is fun with Jeff Goldblum but I can’t help but miss the obsessed and neurotic Vincent D. In an age of mindless reality shows and boring knock-offs one can only hope that a show like Law and Order that challenged the viewers to think will again appear in some form soon. Most everything else on the tube these days is rehashed drivel.
