Here is a guy who represents players in the NFL.  This guy has a relationship with the recruit Cyrus Kouandjio (not sure how but he does and he isn’t representing the kid but is somehow a friend).  The guy tells people at Auburn that if they convince Nick Fairley to sign with him, then he will deliver Cyrus to Auburn.  Nick Fairley agreed to sign with Overstreet well before the BCS Championship game.  Overstreet and AU purposely kept the family out of the dealings with Auburn all the while Overstreet pressured Cyrus to AU.  Cyrus commits to AU, and then says he really isn’t sure, and his family is obviously angry due to being surprised about the decision….and the kid has yet to sign anywhere.  Let me also be clear in saying that I am not accusing anyone of anything illegal or against NCAA rules because no money was exchanged and the agent is a friend of the recruit and not a representative, but nonetheless, it is an odd situation.

I don’t care to venture a guess as to where Cyrus will sign.  That is not the point, and this is not sour grapes because Alabama has the #1 rated class (per rivals) with or without Cyrus.  I post this only because I believe that scumbags like this guy have no business around college football and recruiting.  I hope he and his agency are investigated by the media.  If there is a media member looking for a story, then I would suggest looking here and at this guy.

I’ve talked about it before, but the agent/handler thing has become so prominent in college football these days, that it is almost ruining the game.  Something needs to be done NOW.
