Major League Baseball
Here’s what bothers me. It drives me crazy to see big market teams simply buying up all the best players every year and the small market teams are rarely able to compete. Eventually, teams like Tampa Bay will gradually lose their best players to the Yankees, Red Sox, & Phillies. In a few years they will be back at the bottom in the AL East. Not only has Cleveland lost Le Bron in the NBA, they lost Cliff Lee, and Sabathia to the Yankees, and Phillies. How do you think the Indians would fare today if they still had those players. Teams like Kansas City, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, will contiune to have more down seasons than up.
Right now the Reds have had some recent success because they have been able to develop a nucleus of young players with some talent. How long will that last? Only until some of their best players become free agents and the big market teams start snatching them up. Then it’s back to the basement. To me, there is virtually no chance to win a World Series in Cincinnati.
Major League Baseball really has only a select few teams that will compete for the World Series each year. All of the other teams in the league, are basically developing the talent for those teams in future years. They will put in all the work, then off they will go. I love baseball, I hate the disparity. I really get tired of seeing the same teams win every year.
