Ann Rice’s statement: "I quit Christianity and being a Christian. Amen" and the later statement that she remains a believer are in stark contradiction. It is not possible to remain a believer while not remaining a Christian. It sounds like she is typical of so many celebrities who want to make up their own system of beliefs rather than subscribing to a system of belief which is already founded and has been established for hundreds/thousands of years. Celebrities just can’t seem to comprehend that they can’t make everything adjust to them. No apologies: God nor His Word adapts to us. We change our lives to conform to His will which is revealed in His Word. That is what being a Christian means. It appears when it became clear to Ms. Rice that God’s Word is unbending on issues that she holds dear, she bailed. That in Scripture is called apostasy; if she was a true believer, that makes her an apostate. Amen.
