Game
Ok, here’s the only thing that confuses me about the suspension. Marcellus Dareus (sp?) of Alabama goes to an agent-sponsored party in Miami, receiving approximately $1800 in benefits, and gets a two game suspension. A J Green sells a game jersey to “a person who qualifies as an agent” (meaning they weren’t actually an agent, or they would have just said “sold to an agent”) for $1000 and gets a four game suspension. Is there any rhyme or reason to the penalties handed down by the NCAA?
wow, a manager, 2 coaches, 2 players and a fan are bounced in this game ! i hope they show it on a highlight show if the umpire’s could get the calls right this year it would be a 1st ! 120 years ago, umpires were in cages above homeplate making the calls ( maybe return to the old ways ) what a perfect target for fruits and veggies to be thrown at ? remember what’s old is new, and umpires will always get the calls wrong……. GO PHILLIES

Back in the offseason with all of the talk of expansion and the rise of the Mega-Conference, I wasn’t so keen on the idea. Over time, however that has changed. In fact, given the current landscape of college football, it is now clear more than ever that SuperConferences must happen in order to preserve the integrity of the game of college football. The point of a Championship Game is so that the two best teams can play for it all. Not only do we have the 24 hour spin cycle of a misinformed and misguided media, but sadly, we now also have teams who are circumventing the system by playing a bunch of nobodies and runnning up gaudy records. The odds of the seeing a real title game have significantly decreased since the BCS system was first put into place and the integrity of a proud game is slowly being lost. There is only one answer: The SuperConference. That way each league can have a championship game and the winners of those can play it off for the national title. It is the only way to ensure that the two best teams play for it all and to stop teams like Boise St. and TCU who are trying to cheat the system that is currently in place. SuperConferences are the only way to preserve the integrity of the game. I can only hope the respective heads of the Big 6 are working on this behind the scenes and we can have a real system in place so that the best teams can play. SuperConferences are the only way to maintain the integrity of the game, and hopefully they are here sooner than later. Time for a real playoff system, and the SuperConferences are the answer.
Please someone get to KING and hide all the sharp objects. I have to confess I missed much of the game[watching TEXAS-RICE] but Jacksonville didn’t seem to wear down,or give up. In fact they seemed underwhelmed by playing a SEC opponent.WHAT THINK YE ALL?
Morgan is a very talented ball player but seems to have a very serious anger problem. He is a very intense player but he has crossed the line here with the game in Florida. Before he comes back to play he should be required to talk to someone who deals in anger management. He has already hurt one player and the next might end someones career.

Sad to say that for personal reasons I’m moving on from Comcast. I have thoroughly enjoyed this forum and most that post on it; knowledgeable and passionate fans of the game and their teams. While I have been both berated and praised for some of my posts, what I will take most from this experience is not what I wrote but what I read. Trust me, you’re never too old to learn and there certainly has been a lot of food for thought that got my attention by offering a different perspective, sometimes changing my own. Good luck to all the teams represented on here, you have represented their “fandom” well. Sempre Fi
went to the White Sox, Frank Thomas day game today, got through the lines and was at the turnstiles 8 minutes after the park opened and they were already out of the bobbleheads. What a joke, the game was sold out and they were selling standing room only tickets, there were 40K+ people there and only 10k bobbleheads? overall being there to see Frank honored was a nice experience, but seeing the dissappointed look on my sons face was unacceptable. the white sox orginization should have known better
Will this season be one of boring football because the refs can’t get out of the way so the players can play the game. This new crap of the refs positioning is bull. Someone tell them to put on some pads and suck it up if they are so afraid they will get hit.

I was just wondering if anyone else is sick of listening to “Hawk” in the booth. I was really pleased at first when Steve Stone took over play-by-play, but Harrelson sounds more grating than ever. I’m sick of all his folksy quips like”dag nummit”, “that’s a can of corn”, “he tossed him a cookie”, “stretch, get on back there”, “that’s a hang whiffum”, “he gone”, or “this game is OVA”. Yeah, not over, ova, apparently there’s not an R in the word, after all. If it’s not that, he’ll spend most games whining about the umpiring, ripping any and every close call that doesn’t go the Sox way, while at the same time never acknowledging any bad calls that do go in their favor. Sure I could turn on the radio broadcast, but there is a delay there and I see the play on TV before the radio call is made. Most times he doesn’t even try to conversate with his broadcasting partner, and he just doesn’t really contribute positively to the game, even though he has a great broadcasting partner in Steve Stone whom has a wealth of baseball knowledge and insight. I guess it doesn’t help that the Sox are struggling again, which always makes games harder to watch, but the games shouldn’t be hurting my ears as well. He’s been a finalist for the broadcasting Hall of Fame several years now, and I just think he has no business being mentioned with some of the greats. Any Sox fans feel the same way? or any baseball fan happen to catch a nationally televised broadcast on WGN or something agree? or does anyone actually enjoy his broadcasts? just wondering.
