Oswalt
Soon after the Cliff Lee deal I wrote how stupid Ruben Amaro was to trade him. He claimed he did not want to “deplete the farm”. What a crock. The three prospects he received were all duds and one is now actually a “suspect” in a cocaine bust. We actually further depleted the farm in the Oswalt deal and additionally lost a very promising pitcher, JA Happ. Amaro actually had no choice but to trade for Oswalt but neither he nor the Phillies organization have admitted how badly they botched up the Lee deal. Imagine having a starting rotation of Halliday, Lee, Hamels, Happ and throw in a Brett Myers (a big mistake just letting him walk). Joe Blanton should have been the one traded. Myers was a proven starter and a capable reliever too. His stock has gone nowhere but UP since he joined the Astros. His main problem while in Philly was his mental maturity. I thought he deserved another chance. All wil be forgiven but certainly not forgotten if the Phillies go to the Series again in 2010. We certainly won’t forget when the Hallidays and the Oswalts part ways with the team and the ghosts of trade pasts come back to haunt the team.

Of course Oswalt doesn’t want to go to the Phillies and he really isn’t that interested in winning. His ego won’t let him be a number three starter even for all the money he makes.
Just who does anyone think of Roy Oswalt should go to? He says he’s willing to waive his no-trade clause in his contract, and wants to go to a contender. I’m sure there are going to be some teams that are willing to pick him up, but where to? Give an imput, and I’ll take it from there.
