Over-the-years

I just realized the other day how little I watch ESPN,  I was a kid when ESPN got started and I couldn’t get enough of it. I would watch Australian Rules football in the middle of the night and thought Sportscenter was the best thing ever. I hung in there over the years, still watching Sportscenter almost every day, It was funny how the announcers joked about being in crappy little Bristol Connecticut and talked about the Hartford Whalers.  I just can’t believe the crap they run these days, everything is a bunch of lights and theme music. I mean Sportscenter from Los Angeles ? Who gives a crap where people are sitting when they tell you scores ?  Being in Bristol was at least a little quirky and interesting should we be watching and thinking “Wow maybe Lindsay Lohan is going to show up all wasted”. It is Idiotic. All the stupid little talk shows they have, that one with newspaper writers on little monitors around the country giving their takes is ridiculous. I mean why can’t they have 4 writers sitting around a table talking ? They like give points and shut off peoples monitors, what a joke. The LeBron thing was the biggest joke of all. Fire that guy and the one that came up with NFL Primetime with like 12 guys telling football scores. Sometimes I didn’t even see Sunday highlights until halftime of MNF and that was cool with me. Time for TV. sports to go back to being simple and uncomplicated.

Yea thats right…   DEM BOYS got It this year…and It’s been a loooong time coming… The team has been Improoving over the years… and I think they finally worked out all the kinks… Hell…honestly…they worked out the kinks last year and was ready for the Super Bowl.. Of course they wouldve beat New Orleans…AGAIN…had they had that opportunity… But they didnt… and I know we cant count on the wouldve’s,shouldve’s,and couldve’s…It Is what It Is… But to be honest…the only reason the Cowboys came up short last year… Romo was just shell shocked by playing his Idol In such a significant game(Favre)… And pretty much layed down and took the beating Instead of fighting… Romo needed that loss experience wise… and I think It will motivate him to play even harder this year… He will be ready to get his ‘revenge’…As well as a ring…AT HOME…   LETS GO COWBOYS!   P.S. TO fans… Feel free to drop a line here after todays game  :) We will give the crybaby his first ‘L’ of the year… I’m sure It wont be his last… haha

I want to express my deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Mr. Jack Tatum. I have called on Jack over the years to help in one youth sports activity or another. West Pittsburg Youth Football, and Antioch Youth Football. He always made himself available to the kids. He inspired my sons more than you will ever know. He would come and see them play football during his season, and I know he was busy.  Jack and I have teased each other over the years me being a Wolverine , and he a die hard Buckeye. I’m a staunch 49er fan, and he a hardcore Raider.  He has really had the upper hand as far as the Buckyes versus the Wolverines in the past few years. The world is a colder place today on his leaving us.   He never ever really got his just due from a sport that he loved dearly. we talked about this once, and I’ll never forget what he said. “I regret Darryl was injured, but never the act. I was playing the game the way I was taught, and to do less would classify me a hypocrite.” He was always true to the game.   Please say a prayer for Jack and his family tonight, and may The Supreme Being grant him Peace and Life everlasting.
