So the BCS National Championship Game started out with LSU favored by 1 to 1.5, then went to a pick ‘em, and some places have Bama favored by 1 to 1.5.  I talked to a good friend who owns a service tonight and asked him the spread of the game (which I already knew) and he said he would have started that game at a pick ‘em.  I then asked him what he thought it would be if Oklahoma St. had been in the game instead of Alabama, and he told me at least LSU +14, and said he would not have accepted bets on LSU in a  game against Oklahoma St. without having LSU as a 17 point favorite.

So for all you people out there who think Oklahoma St. would play LSU a great game, it looks as though the people who do this stuff for a living disagree.  That’s just a little food for thought.

Maybe the SEC really is better than everyone else….ya’ think?

Two great teams, coaches, fan bases and traditions will face each other again, this time for it all.  It’s a great day to be an LSU Tiger and an Alabama Crimson Tide fan!!!

With a better resume in out of conference wins, am extra victory against Georgia, and no way for Alabama to claim the head-to-head series (which will include a neutral field game and one game at Alabama), LSU has cemented there case as most deserving of the national championship.   As your reward, you will now play the second place team again, because we all really  want to give Alabama another championship before they lose so many players to the nfl draft.

Just heard a few comments from Mike Slive and he is thrilled with the outcome.  He says it worked exactly the way it was supposed to, and that he wished it had dawned on him that a potential rematch is something that the voters would accept years ago.  He pointed to the 2009 season when Alabama and Florida were clearly the top two teams, and said had he realized a rematch could have been possible, he would have been everywhere advocating for a rematch.  He said there should have been a rematch that year too, and he regrets not lobbying for one.  Finally, Commissioner Slive says changes need to be made to the BCS because the SEC clearly has more than just two teams who deserve to be in BCS bowls and pointed to the fact that South Carolina, Georgia, and Arkansas all had 10 wins.   “There is no question that the system got it right this year.  LSU and Alabama are by far the two best teams and deserve to play.  Had Georgia won yesterday, we would have 3 teams in BCS bowls.  We’re expanding next year, and I think some tweaking needs to be done, exemptions on how many teams a conference should be allowed to get in and so forth” -Mike Slive

Well boys and girls, our days are numbered and the curtain is about to fall.  I have to sign off early because I have finals to study for.  I am an old fart who decided to become a Registered Nurse.  I have truly enjoyed the debates, both casual and heated.  I have enjoyed learning a lot about the regional biases that we all have and have seen how without those biases, us as fans would be truly boring.  I have enjoyed ribbing the SEC fans and can say now that most of it was done out of pure jealousy.  The SEC is head and shoulders above the other conferences but that does not mean that no one should get a shot at knocking you off the perch, one sided or not.  I have felt the thrill of finally playing in the National Championship game.  Even though my Ducks lost to Auburn it was still an experience only a few teams can lay claim to.  I have spent more than a few weeks in time out but it was always worth it.  I have had some great conversations with many of you on the side and always felt welcome on here.  I live around Gator fans and listen to that smack year around, so hearing from LSU, Alabama and Auburn fans is always different.  Just as I view the Pac12 differently, so do the SEC fans.  I will not be venturing over to another media because to be quite honest it will be good to lose this distraction as I move on to the next level of nursing school.  Just to have melviss out of my life will be worth it.  Just kidding melviss, I enjoyed some of your whacko posts, not all of them, but probably most of them.  Ghone, Kozbee, Plainsman, Jack, Mark, Nhgator, Dis, Olegator, and Tired, I will miss the bantor.  Thanks for all the support you gave me during my troubled times and may God bless you all. Thank you and Go Ducks

Here’s hoping that the BCS gets it right and puts Oklahoma State against LSU for the BCS Championship.  I think their thumping of Oklahoma clearly puts them above Alabama who sat home this weekend because they were not good enough to win their division and even play for the conference championship much less win it.  Alabama played LSU and lost and it took overtime to score a wopping 15 total combined points.  Of course we all know the real number two team was Houston. **bleep**….  Let Alabama play TCU or Boise State, or maybe even Stanford.  If for no other reason just to p.o. the SEC fans……

Here we go with the Week 13 games.  This is the biggest of all rivalry weeks and the games start on Turkey Day.  See Week 4 for rules.  Visitors listed first.  If you’re a Pitt or WVa fan, sorry, but one game had to go.  Thur, 24th 1.  Texas vs Texas A&M Fri, 25th 2.  Houston vs Tulsa 3.  Iowa vs Nebraska 4.  Arkansas vs LSU Sat, 26th 5.  UGA vs GIT 6.  Ohio State vs Michigan 7.  Alabama vs Auburn 8.  VPI vs Virginnie 9.  PSU vs Wiscansin 10. Vandy vs Wake Forest 11. FSU vs Florida 12. Clemson vs USC 13. Notre Dame vs Stanford Tie-Breaker…Hmm, several good choices here, but, I refuse to get a headache ponderin’ it.  So, let’s do the game featuring the team that gets no BCS love… Houston vs Tulsa

Okay we all I’m a Duck fan, but how does anyone explain what happened this week in the BCS.  #8 Oregon beats (unranked)Washington, and #7 Arkansas beats #9 South Carolina, and BCS jumps Oregon over Arkansas?  Can anyone figure this one out?    #2 Alabama loses to #1 LSU because they can’t kick a field goal, not just once but 4 times, and yet they stay ahead of an undefeated Stanford?  Alabama has shown that they are not a complete team.  I’m sorry ‘Bama fans but field goals are a part of the game.  It isn’t like the field goals were blocked.  And LSU fans should quit talkin’ smack and get down to the church and count your blessings.  LSU should be playing for the NC this year, and giving thanks to the Alabama kickers.    How does Oklahoma get so much love from the BCS?   Your thoughts?
