NY seems to collect players that are easy to dislike and this current edition seems to have only a few that fit that mold.  “Slappy” is just a nitwit. Posada wasted some of his cree with his whine a few times this season and Burnett seems like one you’d walk to the other side of the street so he would not cross your path. But the rest of the crew is actually a likeable bunch.

Gardner is not a great player and probably never well be but he has a bit of Dirt Dog in him and fans can relate to his gung-ho style.  Swisher is another that flies under the radar performance wise but is really old school in the way he plays.  Tex just melds into the background.  Jeter has been the face of the franchise for a decade and not a taint of scandal surrounds him. Granderson is a great kid and a great player. Mo is always on an even keel and that was present after his BS of Sunday night.  CC is a steady and non excuse pitcher. Hughes has amazing potential but is injury cursed.

So I may still “Hate” the you know who’s but it a mild hate and not a passionate one at least this year.

ray lewis has proven he is worthy to be known he is one of the best ever, his energy on the field his leadership and his heart.he is proud to be a raven and very proud of his defense.the ravens have put together a pretty good offense,if they jell, and start playing consistantjy, the defense will step up as always and help put another game in the win column.he has been around a long time,he is in good shape but,a lot of their defense are getting up there, its in no way hurting their defense yet, they’re  still awesome, but age takes its toll, and  the offense has to do it soon if ray is to get another ring.i gotta admit as a steeler fan,it is fun to watch ray play.anytime you can watch a great player who will surley be in the hall of fame,it is an honor.i m o/

Roger Staubach stated that today’s football players ( QB’s in particular ) are wussies compared to when he played. Yeah right ! Easy to run your jibs when defensive linemen back in your day were 260 pounders who ran a 5.5 . I get really annoyed with old-timers who try to compare era’s and try to make it seem like their time was rougher and tougher than it is now. Actually there is no comparison. Todays players are bigger, stronger, and faster. Therefore : todays game is much more brutal than it was back in his time. Matter of fact…… if he played now, he woulda gotten injured alot more often than he did . He was a great player during his time. But when it comes to commenting on todays NFL ….. Roger should just shut the —- up. Nuff said.

The phrase everyone is using is shutdown corner, but not me… He is a great player but there are a few wideouts in this league that can beat him…Larry Fitzgerald,Randy Moss,Brandon Marshall, come to mind…I also believe T.O. and Anquan Boldin could hold there own against him…Keep this in mind he is very fast but he is only 5’10″ tall…These wide receivers I have mentioned will not cross the scrimmage line without being doubled with Revis being one of the defenders… Message Edited by fanmanjohn on 03-08-2010 03:12 PM

I am just curious if in the history of the NFL. has there ever been a quarterback drafted in the first round paid big money who struggled and played mediocre  football for over 5 seasons that eventually became a champion or a top notch quarterback. I recall back in the day when teams actually opened their eyes  and took their losses and faced the fact that the quarterback was a bust. ?  other then Kurt Warner who was not a top draft pick. I cant think of any quarterback that played sub-par football for several seasons who eventually became a great player and a team leader that took his team to the Super Bowl.
