Sounds good to me…We shall see….   Missouri curators unanimously approve exploring conference affiliation   After a four-hour meeting that included athletic director Mike Alden, the University of Missouri board of curators unanimously authorized chancellor Brady Deaton to explore the Tigers’ conference affiliation.   Deaton subsequently resigned from the Big 12’s board of directors to focus on Missouri’s athletic future.   This likely means Mizzou will examine the possibility of defecting from the Big 12 to the Southeastern Conference, which had been rumored since the league effectively reassembled following the failed attempts by Oklahoma and Oklahoma State to bolt for the Pacific-12.   On Monday, Big 12 interim commissioner Chuck Neinas announced the league members had agreed to equally split most conference-wide football and men’s basketball revenues and to pursue approval at the university level to enter into a grant-of-rights deal that would effectively bind them to the conference for the next six years.   Deaton was announced on Monday as a member of the Big 12’s expansion committee, which is seeking new members to replace Texas A&M, which recently announced its decision to depart following this school year to enter the SEC.   Neinas said then he believed those developments were positive for Missouri remaining in the Big 12, but Missouri’s action Tuesday was a clear declaration the Tigers intend to depart if they get the invitation they’re hoping to receive.   On Tuesday, Neinas stood by his position in a statement: “Missouri is a member in good standing in the Big 12, and I anticipate the university will continue to be a member of the Big 12.”   Missouri’s wanderlust is somewhat surprising given its recent success in Big 12 football. The Tigers have played in bowl games the past six years and tied for the division championship in three of the past four.   In basketball, Missouri made the past three NCAA Tournaments and reached the Elite Eight in 2009. Coach Mike Anderson has since left the program and Mizzou hired Frank Haith away from the Miami Hurricanes to replace him. Having worked on the geographic fringe of the ACC and struggled to achieve consistent success – or attention – it seems unlikely Haith will be thrilled with a move to the SEC.   Missouri has been part of the Big 12 since it was formed in 1995. If it departs the league, it likely will fracture its intense border rivalry with the Kansas Jayhawks, which first was contested in 1907 in basketball and 1891 in football. They have played 119 football games and 265 basketball games.   Last year, Missouri tried to gain entry into the Big Ten when that conference was exploring the expansion process. But the Big Ten preferred Nebraska and its powerful football tradition to the Tigers, who haven’t played in a major bowl since losing to Penn State in the 1970 Orange. ________________________________ So what does this mean?  It sounds as though the stars may be aligning perfectly in terms of expansion for the SEC.  Perhaps The Imperial March is on…

" alt="NFL's Beer?" class="left-thumbnail"/>

Budweiser?   Anheuser-Busch InBev , a Belgian/Brazilian brewer that now owns Anheuser-Bush, has over 250 beer brands produced and sold throughout the world. This makes them the largest brewing company ever conglomerated.   The NFL can not even get an American owned company that brews beer?     Miller- Miller Brewing Company , although based in Milwaukee, WI, is owned by SABMiller (South African Breweries) which was created in 2002 when it was purchased from the Altria Group.   Why not American BEER? 1. The Boston Beer Company , brewers of about 20 different varieties of Samuel Adams, is probably the best known “craft brewer” in the United States (and is, in fact, the largest). Sam Adams beers are “contract-brewed” meaning, they are so large that not all of it comes from one brewery. Hence, Sam Adams can be found nationwide. With a name like Samuel Adams–an American patriot famous for his role in the American Revolution–it is one of your best beverage choices for patriotic consumption this Fourth of July. For a hot summer weekend, try Sam’s Summer Ale, Sam Adams Light, and the original Sam Adams Lager. Or . D.G. Yuengling & Son , commonly called Yuengling, of Pottsville, Pennsylvania, is the oldest operating brewing company in the United States, having been established in 1829, and is one of the largest breweries by volume in the country. They produce, among others, the popular Yuengling Lager. Or 2. Shipyard Brewing Co. in Portland, Maine makes the fantastic Shipyard Export Ale as well as a Summer Ale that is slightly less hoppy, perfect on a warmer day. 3. Abita Brewing Co. in Louisiana makes Abita Amber and Purple Haze for the warmer days and Turbo Dog for those cooler nights. 4. Anchor Brewing Company , in San Francisco, CA, makes the very popular and easy-to-find Anchor Steam as well as a seasonal summer wheat beer. 5. Magic Hat Brewing Company in Vermont, makes the easy-to-find-east-coast beer #9. 6. Pete’s Brewing Company of San Antonio, TX, makes Pete’s Wicked Ale, an American Brown Ale. One of my personal favorites–if I can ever find it again–is Pete’s Strawberry Blonde, a summer brew.   We at the National Fauxball League want Americans to drink Fauxbeer from other countries.   We pride ourselves in running the beer con on America to go along with the Fauxball con we have going now!   We cannot afford American made beer commercials   Just ignore the fact  that the game has  changed with the beer the fans enjoy.   They just don’t need AMERICAN made beer.   They don’t need real football like they just don’t need AMERICAN made beer.   Just don’t pay any attention to how we save money to promote the National Fauxball League.   How we make money.  The average price of an NFL ticket rose 4% this season to $75. The increase was fueled largely by the steep prices at the Cowboys’ new stadium, Team Marketing Report’s survey of NFL ticket prices said.   One game?  The sticker shock doesn’t end with the cost of tickets, however. The Fan Cost Index — what it takes to bring a family of four to a game — is $759 in Dallas, by far the highest in the league.   We are in the business of making money from you the fans, anyway we can,$60.00 stadium tickets more if you want good seats $25.00 parking, imported beers at $7.25 average in a plastic bottle,$7.50 hot dogs we buy in bulk at 10 cents a dog. YOU PAY MORE  and get less for the game of Fauxball.   The National Fauxball League is going green, faux turf, faux play and rules that keep any injuries from occurring.   We at the National Fauxball League will be combining with the  Lingerie Football League for harder hitting action, since hitting is no longer allowed in the National Fauxball League. Get ready to RUMBLE!   These players will soon become NFL players around the league drafting from LFL will start this spring!   They will fit right into the new rules!   They will be protected like a National Fauxball quarterback with a sprained pinky finger.   The official crying booth will still only be open  to National Fauxball League quarterbacks.     Thanks to rising ticket prices, overall cost, and the quality of NFL broadcasting, the majority of professional football fans will be staying home this season. The USA Today ran front-page news this morning that most Americans no longer have the urge to actually attend games.   I wonder why?

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) — Pro Bowl receiver Brandon Lloyd isn’t catching any deep passes in John Fox’s conservative, run-orientENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) — Pro Bowl receiver Brandon Lloyd isn’t catching any deep passes in John Fox’s conservative, run-oriented offense, and he’s letting his quarterback and his coaches know just how he feels about it. , and he’s letting his quarterback and his coaches know just how he feels about it.   A bench crying booth will now be avaible for the player’s and the coaches to meet in and wipe the tears from the crying player   and change dresses or handbags that have gotten soiled.   Only quarterbacks and officials can meet in the 20 yardline crying booth.   Outside the Stadiums across the league there will be a large crying tent for the losing team fans.   Cost to enter Crying tent will be $150.00 a fan, so soft tissues will be given out, along with crying towels made from the same so soft material that your favorite player uses!   The comcast forums will open new NFL Crying page to entertain sobbing fans that just dont get the new National Fauxball League rules.

Brown, who was nicknamed “Zeus” and considered one of the most intimidating offensive lineman in the NFL during his time in the league, played for the Ravens from 1996 to 1998 and from 2003 to 2005. He started 80 games for them. Prior to playing for the Ravens, He played for the  Cleveland Browns.      Link

Repeat offenders like him need to be not just HEAVILY fined, but suspended for multiple games.   If the league would sack up and start fining the coaches and teams that teach/tolerate this crap, you’d see it disappear in a hurry.

How do you feel about pitchers in the league being able to win the MVP?  I know some voters don’t like it and of course others do, yet as it stands now and has since the start (I Think) pitchers in both leagues are eligible to receive the award and that would most definitely come along with the Cy young. There is now the debate on JV from Detroit in the mix for the MVP and some voters are a little put off.  It is their belief that the players (non pitchers) are out there (for some) 162 + games as where the Pitchers are not. IMHO I think it should be Pitcher gets the Cy young and should not be eligible for the MVP and the rule should be changed for even if he still doesn’t get the award he’ll pull votes away from other players that other wise would have had a better shot .Maybe?. It’s a good topic so lets hear some of your opinions

Considering the stark contrast in what today’s athlete makes in comparison to the old days, I think it would be nice if the league gave back to the old greats of yesteryear.  I’m talking the former stars who had to go out and work other jobs during the off season but made the sport great giving 100% on the gridiron. Just something to supplement their incomes and social security I don’t think it would bankrupt the NFL.

It seems that Philly is the place to be no matter what the sport. The Eagles continue on their free agent agenda and steal Steve Smith form the NY Football Giants. They have obviously done a phenomenal job in managing their cap in preparation for post lock-out FA signings. I can only hope after this signing that their medical staff is that much better than New York’s. If Smith can get back on the field when the Eagles anticipate, they’ll have one of the most formidable offenses in the league. These signings remind me of another squad in Philly directly across Pattison Avenue.   http://aol.sportingnews.com/nfl/story/2011-08-10/philadelphia-eagles-sign-wr-steve-smith-new-york-giants-injured-knee
