I know there are still 6 games to play, so things could change, but is there any way on earth that Washington retains Shanahan?

Is Reid going to be fired or allowed to gracefully “retire?”

Has Sparano saved his job with the way the Phish have played for their last few games?

Isn’t it past time for Jack del Rio to go?

Does Caldwell take the heat for the Colts abysmal performance or will they cut him some slack?

Do both Haley and Turner need to make the playoffs in order to stay?

Has Frazier done anything to earn another year in Minnesota?

Why on earth would the Rams keep Spagnuolo?

Joe Flacco

I watched the No Huddle program on NFL network last night with Deion Sanders, Warren Sapp,Willie McGinest, and Jamie Dukes…Deion Sanders and Jamie Dukes had nothing but negative comments about Joe Flaccos abilities as a Raven QB…I’am not saying at the present time Flacco is in the same category as Brady,Rodgers or Rothlesburger but he has the potential to be…Flacco is only in his fourth year and looked dam good against a great team this past weekend…I don’t like using stats to make a point but I must on this subject…   First rookie QB to start all sixteen games and make the playoffs First rookie QB to win two playoff games Most starts by a QB in first season 19 Most starts by a QB in first 2 seasons 37 Most starts by a QB in first 3 seasons 55 Most wins by a QB in first 60 consecutive starts 40 First QB to start and win a playoff game in each of his first three seasons Most combind regular and postseason wins in first three years as a QB Most playoff road wins   Early in the 2009 season while playing the Vikings Flacco took a visious hit on his right hip and thigh by Jared Allen he could hardly get up off the turf but he played through it…The injury bothered him the rest of the season but he took the Ravens to the playoffs and never missed a down of football… I don’t think the media is giving this kid  a fare shake, I know his passing rating at the present time is a bit low but all the pass recievers he has are new on the team other then Bolden…His passing rating will improve in the second half of the season I can asure you…

Still smarting from the narrow defeat of my Yankees I still love basebal, and caught the last few innings of the Detroit/ Texas game which ended on a Grand Slam by Nelson Cruz. The Texas pitching has been excellent so far in the playoffs and they have one of the best offenses in baseball so are they on a mission to capture the World series Championship that eluded them last year? I think so It sure doesn’t help Detroit that every time Verlander pitches the game gets rained out and his warmup makes him unable to pitch for another 4 days. He is slated to go in game 5 now but I don’t think there will be a game 5 in this series. I think Texas will be working out in Miller Park that day getting ready for the start of the World Series against the Brewers.

Jus makes you feel all warm inside when the yanks don’t advance like they have in most of the seasons lately. All that money spent(wasted) trying to “buy” championships. I lmao with regard to their futility, :) Better luck next years spankies. You can spend more money next year and try to buy your way a little further in the playoffs, lol You want to know what is wrong in sports today? The wankies are the epitomy of what is wrong. I will laugh all the way until next preseason when I think of their futility. Wahhhhhhhhhhhh!

Joey, we here in Eugene Oregon will miss your insight and interesting topics pertaining to Red Sox nation.  You were right on when you said the Yankees allowed the Rays to win.  Karma is funny, and that may come back to the Yankees if they meet the Rays in the playoffs.  Many of us have followed your comments on this site and now with you leaving this will become one uninteresting web site with the typical Red Sox bashing.  You were right about Bogo, he is like Terry Franconna, he just lets the Yankees walk all over him and his little puns and stats usually fall flat.  When this site gets more people than maybe it will become interesting.  The half dozen people who post on here with regularity need to find a life someplace.  We’re leaving too.

Yankees and Rays at least one will get beaten and losing in the playoffs or world series is more painful than losing in the regular season. Down the stretch the Phillies didnt look that good. I think Texas or the Rays take the whole thing and than we can laugh at Yankee fans for losing and Joe Giradi will be managing for the Cubbies for letting the Rays win last night.

Giradi handed the Rays a win on a silver platter, when the Yankees accidentialy scored 7 runs Giradi was so terrified he may have to face the sox he could’ve sent out marianio to save the game but he purposely allowed the rays to win,. this is going to come back at Giradi.  they could easily face the rays in the alcs and I guarantee if the rays beat the yankees Giradi will be managing the Pirates, because steinbrenner will fire him for letting the rays win.  the good news about the sox losing is they would not have won the WS anyway, and rather lose now and fire some of the deadwood and rid this team of about 5 players and bring in new blood.  when the yankees lose either in the playoffs or the WS it will be 2003 all over again.  yes the biggest lead lost in MLB history, but the yankees still have the biggest choke in MLB history, remember 2004 against red sox. so yankee fans laugh now, but when the yankees lose and giradi is fired for letting the rays win, than red sox fans will be laughing.:smileyvery-happy: :smileyvery-happy: :smileyvery-happy: this will be me when the yankees get beat, i bet they lose to tampa in the ALCS, I think the yankees and rays will make it past the first round and will meet. Rays might be the 2003 marlins, i thought it might be the diamondbacks.

The Yankees fear the sox so much there not even trying g to beat Tampa as the last 2 games showed. True the sox have lousy pitching but the Yankees know that the playoffs are completely different and are terrified of giving the Red Sox a chance. The sox have owned the Yankees pretty much all season, so Giradi and gutless Jeter have decided to lay down and let Tampa win.  That’s OK, because Tampa if they make it may beat the Yankees in the ALCS if they both get by the first round.  Tampa has great pitching, The Yankees have CC and the rest are huge question marks, and the yankeees may be allowing Tampa to win now only to get beat by them in the ALCS.

dont worry its not all bad, I have a few reasons why.  first as I said many years ago, I would rather have my team lose early, not make it to the playoffs than go to the playoffs and lose. (patriots,Giants superbowl,) its easier to lose in the reg season than watch your team go all the way only to lose in the end.  2nd.  maybe they will fire epstein, and bring in Ozzire Guillen, he would be perfect for the red sox, I like tito, but Ozzie would be a nice change and Boston would be a good fit for a loud, outspoken, not TAKE ANY CRAP KINDA GUY, Ozzie would fit in nice.  3rd. here’s the best part.  its unlikely the yankees will go all the way and the same with the rays, beating boston is no great feat, the sox have no pitching. the rays pitching will most likely carry them into the playoffs; but like the yankees I think will come up short. I think, texas, or phillies, and the one to watch diamond backs will go all the way. the yankees just dont have the pitching. detroit after verlander is vulnerable thats why im giving it to texas or the phillies, but the diamondbacks remind me of the 2003 marlins.  I will be rooting for the diamondbacks if the sox dont get in, which is likely. than I would like to see detroit, than the phillies, but as long as its not the yankees and it wont be, you never know, but the yanks after CC is vulnerable. so red sox fans we can watch the playoffs from afar and root for the tigers and texas to beat the yanks and tampa, i even give the rays more of a chance  to win in the playoffs than the yankees. colon has not been good as of late, hughes and AJ are big questions, Nova and CC seem to be the strongest. so its not all bad,

I have always considered this ever since I was old enough to say Carl Yastremski.  would you rather have a team (your team) go to the world series, superbowl, stanley cup, or NBA championship and lose than not get there at all.  I would rather have my team not go all the way to the end and lose, like the patriots a few years ago against the Giants, I would have rather they get knocked out in the playoffs than go all the way only to come up short. But Brady still has 3 superbowls, so it wasnt the end of the world. I feel the same way about all the teams I cheer for, I just hate seeing my team go all the way and lose in the very end, I would rather them not even make the playoffs rather than get knocked out in the playoffs.  I have alwyas felt that way, most people would probally want their team to go all the way to game 7 of  the WS and lose rather than get knocked out early.  I prefer them to be knocked out early.  There is something about being so close and not being able to win.
