Saints

there is a lot of talk about the Pick-6 in the SB. This is the question for you. Do you think Manning choked, or did the Saints just beat the Colts outright, or a combination of the two. Personally I think it is a combination. Manning made a rookie QB mistake of staring down his receiver and had enough time to check down his other receivers and he would have seen Collie was open. Porter was covering Wayne pretty good and it should never have been thrown there. Now the Saints at that point were still ahead and Porter did read the play so I also give credit to the Saints. But I say Manning choked on that play and sealed the loss for his team. What say you all.

Let’s see how long it takes the NFL forum picture to be changed to one of Drew Brees, the Saints, etc. The Patriots photo never came down even after the Giants beat them in the SB, yet Roethlisberger’s pic went up nearly immediately.  The MLB forum still shows the Phillies even though they were dethroned months ago. Any predictions?

Yes Yes And Yes.  he acts like he is the team and that everyone owes him a win everytime.  Just look at the way he acted in final games of the season.  But since he is only a .500 player, what does one expect from a spoil sport.  Saints rule!

I think It’s hard to deny that despite the rare error* by Manning at the end of the game, the Colts’ offense was absolutely dominant. Almost every play resulted in a dramatic gain.  But the Saints managed to keep that offense off the field. And all credit to the Saints’ offense for their endurance.  If the Saints had  “3 and out” drives, they would have been killed.  But they hung in there. The (clearly) better team lost, and three cheers to the team who figured out how to beat them.  (*I hate to call it an error by Manning.  It was a good pass, but an excellent read by the defender)

Couldn’t resist. After all the trash talking by certain Colt fans, I sure hope they have the stones to come back now and eat crow!!!   Nice game by the Saints. Manning is human after all!!!   WHO DAT??!! :smileyvery-happy::smileyvery-happy:     To all the respectful Colts fans (you know who you are): Congrats on a great season. Still one of the best franchises around. But your qb looked a little long in the tooth at the end… :smileysurprised:

If the players and owners do not come to an agreement I say bring back strike football like last time!  That was football that was played for the love of the game and not the dollars.  The guy who started as QB for the Saints during the strike ended up the starter the next year and could have been a star player if he had been anywhere else but New Orleans.  That was John Fourcade.  Great football while it lasted.  Heck I remember Bill Parcels trying the Wishbone during a game against NO during that.  (didn’t work very well but at least he tried).  :D   Lcash

It is a familiar cry at the end of critical games when they do not go your way!  However, there is a major mistake everyone makes when doing the woulda, coulda, shoulda shuffle.  Each action that is taken causes a different reaction.  Lets take the Saints VS Vikings for an example.  The Vikings turned the ball over 5 times and had the penalty near the end of regulation.  Out come the cries of WCS.  Suppose they never turned the ball over?  Would that have changed the outcome of the game?  Maybe or maybe not!  Each action on the field causes a reaction.  So what if they punched the ball through for a touchdown instead of fumbling?  Do you think the Saints would have just given up and the rest of the game would go on just as it did?  No because the Saints would have had a different reaction to the touchdown.  It would have caused a change in their game plan, tempo etc.    There is no way you could predict the outcome of a game by taking away a mistake or group of mistakes by one side or the other due to those differing outcomes causing different reactions by the opposing team.  Taking away a mistake by your team may cause a much different outcome than you think and not always in your favor.  It is known as Chaos theory.  Each action causes a reaction that amplifies the next action.  The further out you go the more unpredictable the result.   In other words, it is time to forget the past game and look ahead to tomorrow.  Life is too short to cry over football for more than a week.  :D   Lcash

This should be one helluva shootout, with the best QB in AFC and NFC.  Both have peaked.  Brees has done it with what was given to him Peyton has had his needs met.  The Saints win;   If they can keep a lead, and stop the run to force peyton for spectacular after spectacular to get a first down.      The Colts win;  If they can run the ball, and stop the run.  Again forcing the QB to do it all.  If it comes down to ea. QB for the Game.  Exp. goes with Peyton,  The Gumption to do it with DREW BREES   Saints by a FG..:smileyvery-happy:
