All I’m asking is if the teams played in NO who would win? Or, if the teams played in Minneapolis, who would win. Your choices are: 1. The Saints in either city 2. The Vikings in either city 3. The Saints at home but not in Minneapolis 4. The Vikings at home but not in New Orleans 5. The Saints in Minnesota but not in New Orleans 6. The Vikings in New Orleans but not in Minneapolis
Need an NFL draft EXPERT
I don’t know the answer to this, and I’m hoping someone does. How much time does the drafting team have to sign their draftees? I know that way back in the stone age, once you were drafted you were the property of that team in perpetuity even if you didn’t sign right away, but I think that has changed. Does the NFL have a time limit, such as x number of days, or until the next draft, or something else? I don’t know if it would ever happen in the NFL, but I’m wondering if someone would do as Red Auerbach did with Larry Bird, and draft him a year before he came out / became draft-eligible. For example, if you’re the Vikings or 49ers, or any other team wanting a QB, and you’ve already decided that Andrew Luck is “your guy” and that none of the QB’s in this year’s draft are who you want, can you legitimately draft him (most likely a lower-round pick) and then sign him next year after he leaves school? If that’s legit, then it would also conceivably be a way for the better teams that normally draft late, to target a guy they think will be a stud-muffin in the following year’s draft, and lock him up early. I wouldn’t think a bad team would do something like this since they’d be the teams in need of more immediate help. Can you do this in the NFL?
FIRE CHILLY!
As a long-time Vikings fan, I am P.O.d! You can blame Favre. You can blame injuries. You can blame the offensive line. You can blame the defense. Ultimately, you have to look to the coach. From his first press conference Childress has done his best to irritate the Vikings fans and players. One of his first statements was, “I don’t care if we win or lose as long as the players do things my way.” The fans hate him. The players dislike him. He has earned no respect from anyone in Minnesota. Anybody, no matter their favorite team, who has witnessed a Childress coached game has to agree. Childress Must Go! http://firechilly.com/
Back to Article Restaurant turns tables on Randy Moss By STEVE KARNOWSKI, Associated Press Thursday, November 4, 2010 (11-04) 15:03 PDT MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A restaurant whose food was sharply criticized by Randy Moss is giving the former Minnesota Vikings receiver something to chew on. Tinucci’s in suburban Newport will offer free lunches Friday to the first 50 people who come to turn in their Moss jerseys. For everyone else, the lunch buffet will be marked down to $8.40, a takeoff on the receiver’s No. 84 jersey, co-owner Gus Tinucci said Thursday. Tinucci said he was catering lunch for the players at the Vikings’ practice facility last Friday when Moss entered the locker room and looked at the buffet line. “Randy came up to the table and said, ‘Who ordered this (expletive) stuff? I wouldn’t feed it this to my (expletive) dog,’” Tinucci recalled. He said the locker room went quiet and somebody told Moss to shut up. “We didn’t see him again. He didn’t eat and that was the end of it.” Moss’s agent, Joel Segal, did not return a phone call seeking comment Thursday. Tinucci said he got an apology this week from a member of the Wilf family, which owns the Vikings. The idea for the jersey turn-in came from local sports talk station KSTP-AM, which is a customer of the Tinucci family’s catering business and will broadcast live from Friday’s event, he said. Tinucci is laughing off the disrespect from Moss, given the source. Vikings coach Brad Childress cut Moss on Monday, less than a month into his second stint in Minnesota. The Vikings lost three of the four games in which he played, and his cause wasn’t helped by his locker room behavior or postgame complaining Sunday. The buffet incident has provided plenty of fodder for newspaper columns, talk radio and sports bloggers all week. The Tinucci family has been laughing it off. Tinucci’s also got a thumbs up Wednesday from quarterback Brett Favre. “I was sitting in my locker eating the food” when Moss complained, Favre told reporters. He added: “I thought it was pretty good.” The jerseys will be donated to the Boys & Girls Clubs in Nashville, where the Titans claimed Moss off the waiver wire Wednesday. The Tinucci family will also donate $500 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Paul, and will ask Friday’s patrons for donations, too. The food? It will be what Tinucci served the Vikings, including chicken, ribs and beef. ___ AP Sports Writer Jon Krawczynski contributed to this report. http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2010/11/04/sports/s133333D36.DTL © 2010 Hearst Communications Inc. | Privacy Policy | Feedback | RSS Feeds | FAQ | Site Index | Contact

Can Favre do it again?
First, it’s not a big surprise that Brett decided to come back for a 20th season. If he has a halfways decent year, he’ll probably be back for a 21st. That being said, the question of the day is can he bring the Vikings another shot at the Super Bowl? Last year Brett had his career year, racking up the best year, statistically, of his long career. Expecting numbers like that are unrealistic. Why? Because Brett will be 41 years old in October and while he has played through injuries throughout his career, he has had a couple of rather serious injuries the past 2 seasons. Anyone over the age of 35, no matter what shape they’re in, knows that the little aches and pains that came in their 20′s are far more serious in their late 30s and 40s. Heck, some days it takes a couple of hours after awaking just to limber up. Just imagine getting smacked around by 300 lb NFL defensive linemen. Brett is just a big hit away from retirement and he knows it. Of course, any NFL player is in the same boat, but most of them aren’t 41 years old! Let’s face it, Favre will be playing against guys that are young enough to be his kids and, seriously, do you think that some of them wouldn’t relish the chance of being the guy that ends Brett’s career? Do you think they’ll hold back just because it’s Brett Favre? I doubt it. A lot of things need to go right, like they did last year, for Brett to have another great year. I expect Brett to have a good, not great year, if he survives the rigors of the season. Will it be enough to get the Vikings to the Super Bowl and win it? Any football fan knows that it depends on a number of factors. Potential injuries, not only to Favre, but, to Adrian Peterson, Percy Harvin, who knows who all else, all come into play. All that being said, although I think Brett Favre is a media hogging, needy, prima donna, I do respect his abilities and I hope he has a typical Favre year and can ride off into real retirement relatively healthy. Good Luck, Brett!
Judas is done playing
Well after leaving the Vikings hanging all off season Judas Favre decides to retire yet again!!! Now the Vikings get to turn to the QBs they said weren’t good enough so they had to bring in Judas and ask them to step up and be their starting QB. Awsome move Chilly you get the moron coach of the year award way to go :
